Scott Faulconbridge was nominated for a 2009 Canadian Comedy Award as Best Male Stand up. Hilarious story telling and improvisational wit have led critics to claim that he is “among the best stand-up comedians on the continent”. It has also earned him regular appearances on CBC radio’s wildly popular “The Debater’s” where he goes head to head with the best comedy minds in Canada.
He began his career as a member of one of Canada’s most popular and acclaimed improv troupes, On the Spot, two-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee for Best Improv Troupe. Scott then combined his unique improvisational stage presence with a witty observational style in an act that has toured all over North American and the U.K.
His stand-up appearances and specials have appeared on NBC, CTV and CBC. Scott has appeared at Just for Laughs five times as a stand-up, working with such acts as Chris Rock, Penn and Teller, Bill Maher and Richard Lewis. Scott has toured Canada several times, most notably as a part of the Lipton Just For Laughs Comedy Tour in 2004, as well as the Investors Group Comedy Tour in 2006 and recently was the opening act for Howie Mandel at the National Arts Centre in our nation’s capital.
Above and beyond his accomplishments as a stand-up comic, Scott is also an established writer and actor; having written for numerous television series, including Discovery Kids “Jacques Cousteau’” YTV’s “Fries with That,” and CBC’s “Just For Laughs.” In 2007, he completed the rewrite of the feature film “Iza Bella,” produced by renowned Quebec producer Rock Demers.
His film and television credits include a supporting role opposite Shia LaBeouf in Disney’s “The Greatest Game Ever Played,” directed by Bill Paxton and a Guest Starring role in “Stephen King’s Dead Zone.”
