John started off in show business as an actor, then a sketch writer/performer, who had a particular knack for Improv.
It was this background that lead him to a career that, in retrospect, had been staring him in the face all along.
John began stand-up in January of 2007, and that April, performed in his first of four, Halifax comedy festivals. He has also performed at The Winnipeg, St. John’s, and Moncton festivals, and has been featured on CBC Radios’ The Debaters. This past year, he had tracks on a recently released Just for Laughs album.
John has headlined Yuk Yuks clubs in St.John’s, Halifax, Ottawa, Calgary, and Saint John.
December, 2017, he had his first of three tours with Team Canada, entertaining Canadian Forces members serving abroad. Stops included Ukraine, France, Latvia, Greece, and Kuwait.
Aside from his comedy career, John has performed lead roles in three professional Shakespeare productions since 2015, and has several film and television credits to his name.
